Floor Screed

Floor screeds are designed to provide a smooth, flat, level surface, suitable to receive the floor coverings.

There are many high-performance products in the market, and the selection of your product is important. The product selection will depend on many client-driven factors, such as a combination of floor area, programme time, cost, drying time, and thickness zone available.
Robot Underfloor Heating have engaged with Glenalmond Contracts for all of our screeding works over the last 10 years. We always receive the best service and attention from their team. I can fully recommend their products and quality of work.

Pumped Floor Screed
Flowing floor screeds have been in the UK market for over 20 years and provide the majority of floor screeds laid. Their main advantage is speed of installation, where an installation team of 4 people can install over 1500m2 per day, over 10 times the area that can be laid traditionally.

These screeds have faster initial strength development and can generally accept foot traffic almost 24 hours after installation. The use of Calcium Sulfate based flowing floor screeds mean that the site is closed to other trades for a shorter time than traditional screeds. Glenalmond have an extensive range of flowing screed pumps, allowing multiple installations per day.

Pumped Cementitious

CemFloor is a cement based flowing floor screed offering all of the advantages of anhydrite flooring floor screeds, but with significantly improved drying times.

The material is compatible with a number of bolt-on systems, such as acoustic insulation, under floor heating, and resin flooring. Cement based flowing floor screeds allow for much quicker and easier application of follow-on floor finishes.

Traditional Floor Screeds

Traditionally floor screeds have been manufactured using a mix of Portland cement and sand. These mixes can have performance enhancing additives added, such as SBR polymers to increase strength and durability, or polypropylene fibres to aid crack control.

We have state of the art Brinkmann screed pumps that have a forced action mixer built into the pump, to ensure accurate mixing, prior to pumping the screed to point of use.

Glenalmond has completed over 30,000 installs.

The screed from all of these jobs, would be the size of Glasgow City!
